Ms. N.L. Nyangintsimbi, English Language Practitioner, Consultant



 

She poses a BA degree in English Studies and a BA honours degree in linguistics from University of Pretoria. In addition, Ms. Nyangintsimbi is a registered language practitioner and/ or editor, with the South African Translators’ Institute (SATI). Ms. Nyangintsimbi passion for editing emanated from assisting students with editing and proofreading their proposals and dissertations. Her skills are enormous but not limited to writing, editing, proofreading, communication and editing in the English language. Her specialities are arts and culture, education, humanities, marketing, social sciences, and linguistic validation. Previously, she has worked as a communication officer and editor with various entities. This includes, the department of education (National Skills Fund), Tshwane municipality, Somakhawula Language Consultancy, Sparrow Research and Industrial Consultants, and the Government Communication and Information System.

She always emphasize that the primary function of communication is to relay information, a mutual understanding between the two parties involved is vital. If the information is misinterpreted by the receiver, it may cause a breakdown or failure in communication and, thus, affect the actions that follow. For example, in an academic document or business report, the way in which information is relayed will determine the outcome. This can be achieved through thorough editing and proofreading as well as ensuring that every word in a recording has been transcribed.
